This is an\nunnecessary divide for the normal case of 1 Rx ring per Rx ring\ncontainer. Fix this by using an unlikely() call in the case where we\nactually need to divide.\n\nAlso, we will always set budget_per_ring even if there are no Rx rings\nin the Rx ring container so we don't need to initialize it to 0.\n\nSigned-off-by: Brett Creeley <brett.creeley@intel.com>\n---\n drivers/net/ethernet/intel/ice/ice_txrx.c | 15 ++++++++++-----\n 1 file changed, 10 insertions(+), 5 deletions(-)", "diff": "diff --git a/drivers/net/ethernet/intel/ice/ice_txrx.c b/drivers/net/ethernet/intel/ice/ice_txrx.c\nindex f625d9887f88..7229dea0b83f 100644\n--- a/drivers/net/ethernet/intel/ice/ice_txrx.c\n+++ b/drivers/net/ethernet/intel/ice/ice_txrx.c\n@@ -1717,8 +1717,8 @@ int ice_napi_poll(struct napi_struct *napi, int budget)\n \t\t\t\tcontainer_of(napi, struct ice_q_vector, napi);\n \tstruct ice_vsi *vsi = q_vector->vsi;\n \tbool clean_complete = true;\n-\tint budget_per_ring = 0;\n \tstruct ice_ring *ring;\n+\tint budget_per_ring;\n \tint work_done = 0;\n \n \t/* Since the actual Tx work is minimal, we can give the Tx a larger\n@@ -1737,11 +1737,16 @@ int ice_napi_poll(struct napi_struct *napi, int budget)\n \tif (budget <= 0)\n \t\treturn budget;\n \n-\t/* We attempt to distribute budget to each Rx queue fairly, but don't\n-\t * allow the budget to go below 1 because that would exit polling early.\n-\t */\n-\tif (q_vector->num_ring_rx)\n+\t/* normally we have 1 Rx ring per q_vector */\n+\tif (unlikely(q_vector->num_ring_rx > 1))\n+\t\t/* We attempt to distribute budget to each Rx queue fairly, but\n+\t\t * don't allow the budget to go below 1 because that would exit\n+\t\t * polling early.\n+\t\t */\n \t\tbudget_per_ring = max(budget / q_vector->num_ring_rx, 1);\n+\telse\n+\t\t/* Max of 1 Rx ring in this q_vector so give it the budget */\n+\t\tbudget_per_ring = budget;\n \n \tice_for_each_ring(ring, q_vector->rx) {\n \t\tint cleaned;\n", "prefixes": [ "S23", "03/15" ] }
