As part of the discussion in\n[1], there were few possible solutions proposed by Russell [2]. This\npatch implements the first option in [2].\n\nPatch 2 adds a new logical port type - 'external' to support using\nof OVN native services like DHCP for VMs which are not bound to any\novn-controller chassis. The main use case is for SR-IOV VMs.\nPatch 2 also addresses the comments from Ben about adding documenation\nin ovn-architecture.\n\nI had submitted these patches separately earlier.
