Hi,

Since r9-115-g559289370f76bf the support of paired single
had been dropped, but we still have some test checks and
cases for that, this patch is to get rid of them.

Regtested on powerpc64-linux-gnu P8/P9 and
powerpc64le-linux-gnu P9 and P10.

I'm going to push this soon if no objections.
