While retaining the storage abstraction feature, this is the first
set of the changes required to resync with the
  cmd_flash_mmc_sparse_img()
in the file
  aboot.c

Having a list of what the changes are (and if possible split them in
several patches).

It looks like there's a lot of very different things done in this patch.
