[wwwdocs] Consolidate GCC web pages documentation (2/3)

This is the second part, mostly mechanical, but also giving us
the opportunity to streamline a bit further.

  Replace remaining references to cvs.html.  Shorten descriptive text
  around these reference.

Installed.
