This is a note to let you know that I have just added a patch titled xen-blkback: do not leak mode property to the linux-3.5.y-queue branch of the 3.5.y.z extended stable tree which can be found at: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/git?p=ubuntu/linux.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/linux-3.5.y-queue If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to this tree, please reply to this email. For more information about the 3.5.y.z tree, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/Dev/ExtendedStable Thanks. -Luis ------ From d67386ea85603e6f57487df66128a759654045d8 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Jan Beulich <JBeulich@suse.com> Date: Thu, 20 Dec 2012 10:31:11 +0000 Subject: [PATCH] xen-blkback: do not leak mode property commit 9d092603cc306ee6edfe917bf9ab8beb5f32d7bc upstream. "be->mode" is obtained from xenbus_read(), which does a kmalloc() for the message body. The short string is never released, so do it along with freeing "be" itself, and make sure the string isn't kept when backend_changed() doesn't complete successfully (which made it desirable to slightly re-structure that function, so that the error cleanup can be done in one place).
