This is a note to let you know that I have just added a patch titled PCI: Allow pcie_aspm=force even when FADT indicates it is to the linux-3.5.y-queue branch of the 3.5.y.z extended stable tree which can be found at: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/git?p=ubuntu/linux.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/linux-3.5.y-queue If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to this tree, please reply to this email. For more information about the 3.5.y.z tree, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/Dev/ExtendedStable Thanks. -Herton ------ From dbe5880a3df87fdb8d7e7376bc3b16742dc7d697 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Colin Ian King <colin.king@canonical.com> Date: Tue, 27 Nov 2012 14:09:40 +0000 Subject: [PATCH] PCI: Allow pcie_aspm=force even when FADT indicates it is unsupported commit 9e16721498b0c3d3ebfa0b503c63d35c0a4c0642 upstream. Right now using pcie_aspm=force will not enable ASPM if the FADT indicates ASPM is unsupported. However, the semantics of force should probably allow for this, especially as they did before 3c076351c4 ("PCI: Rework ASPM disable code") This patch just skips the clearing of any ASPM setup that the firmware has carried out on this bus if pcie_aspm=force is being used.
