This is a note to let you know that I have just added a patch titled ALSA: hda - add mute LED for HP Pavilion 17 (Realtek codec) to the linux-3.5.y-queue branch of the 3.5.y.z extended stable tree which can be found at: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/git?p=ubuntu/linux.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/linux-3.5.y-queue If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to this tree, please reply to this email. For more information about the 3.5.y.z tree, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/Dev/ExtendedStable Thanks. -Herton ------ From 708c5e975aa54e53dd73f764536f207444f828fa Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: David Henningsson <david.henningsson@canonical.com> Date: Mon, 7 Jan 2013 12:03:47 +0100 Subject: [PATCH] ALSA: hda - add mute LED for HP Pavilion 17 (Realtek codec) commit 6d3cd5d444223c41eabb70dccff14fae4e8cb8b1 upstream. The mute LED is in this case connected to the Mic1 VREF. The machine also exposes the following string in BIOS: "HP_Mute_LED_0_A", so if more machines are coming, it probably makes sense to try to do something more generic, like for the IDT codec.
