This is a note to let you know that I have just added a patch titled libata: set dma_mode to 0xff in reset to the linux-3.5.y-queue branch of the 3.5.y.z extended stable tree which can be found at: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/git?p=ubuntu/linux.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/linux-3.5.y-queue If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to this tree, please reply to this email. For more information about the 3.5.y.z tree, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/Dev/ExtendedStable Thanks. -Herton ------ From a0bccf7c75c7a76d81fd37e1a29d03304048de01 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Aaron Lu <aaron.lu@intel.com> Date: Mon, 3 Dec 2012 11:35:02 +0800 Subject: [PATCH] libata: set dma_mode to 0xff in reset commit 5416912af75de9cba5d1c75b99a7888b0bbbd2fb upstream. ata_device->dma_mode's initial value is zero, which is not a valid dma mode, but ata_dma_enabled will return true for this value. This patch sets dma_mode to 0xff in reset function, so that ata_dma_enabled will not return true for this case, or it will cause problem for pata_acpi.
