CURL library API has changed, the current curl driver is not working.
This patch rewrites the use of API as well as the structure of internal
states. (It is hard to split this to multiple patches as basically all
these changes need to work together.)

BDRVCURLState holds the pointer to curl multi interface (man 3
libcurl-multi), and 4 lists for internal states:
 - CURLState holds state for libcurl connection (man 3 libcurl-easy)
 - CURLSockInfo holds information for libcurl socket interface (man 3
   curl_multi_socket_action).
 - CURLDataCache holds the user data read from libcurl, it is in a list
ordered by access, the used cache is moved to list head on access, so
the tail element is freed first. BDRVCURLState.cache_quota is the
   threshold to start freeing cache.
 - CURLAIOCB holds ongoing aio information.

Which libcurl APIs have changed? I expect libcurl to be backwards
compatible.

What is the minimum libcurl version needed with this patch applied?

Function curl_multi_socket_all (see man 3 curl_multi_socket) is
deprecated, and not working as I tried the current curl driver, build
against libcurl 7.27.0. It's deprecated to be replaced by
curl_multi_socket_action.

The version does not concern, they are all introduced in the same
version, 7.15.4 [1], and has been there for long.

Great, please include the details in the commit description.

I checked that RHEL 5.x has libcurl 7.15.5 so it should be safe to use
curl_multi_socket_action(). Most other operating systems will have a
newer libcurl than this.

This new option should be in a separate patch.

This check is unrelated to the API change and should be in a separate
patch.

The timeout should be added in a separate patch.

What is the point of the cache? Can you split it into a separate patch?

while 0?

OK. I'll try to split them to patches.

The cache is for prefetch. Data is fetched by 256k chunks using libcurl
and stored in cache to fill future io request, reducing overall http
request overhead.

That sounds like a performance optimization which is not part of fixing
broken block/curl.c :).

But why bother doing this - the guest kernel uses read-ahead anyway to
fetch more data than the userspace read(2) requested? This cache
amplifies the read-ahead and potentially wastes (e.g. random-read
workload). Let the guest decide how much read-ahead is appropriate.

I didn't invent it here. Read ahead is already in curl.c, (see
BDRVCURLState.readahead_size). I don't think it's time to remove it here
either, but rename to a better name should be OK. What do you think?

BTW please keep me CC'ed when reply so that I can notice it better.

Yes, that's true. Although I'm not a fan of readahead I guess it's
already implemented.
