Hi Artem,

As the patch heavily depends on mxs device tree branch, I think it will
be easier to have it go through arm-soc tree. If you agree, can you
please give your ack if the patch looks fine to you?

I do not mind if it goes via the arm-soc tree. I cannot really review
this patch - it is too big, I think it should be split on smaller
chunks.

Right. I also think that the patch should at least be split into two,
one converts the driver to device tree and the other adds imx6q
support. Shijie, can you do that?

Shawn

ok, I will do it tomorrow.

It's better that this patch is merged by l2-mtd, because this patch
depends on another patch which is
on the l2-mtd now.

Best Regards
Huang Shijie

But you patch has to be based on mxs-dma DT support to function.
Maybe we should wait for the next merge window?

The mxs-dma is another driver (just as the pinctrl driver). I think it's
better to do the job in parallel.

The problem is if the patch gets applied on mtd tree as it is, the
gpmi-nand will stop functioning on mtd tree. Or you are fine with
that, since no in-tree board support is using the driver so far? If
you are fine with that, I'm fine too.

Shawn

even this patch is get applied. the gpmi-nand still can not work. I still
have to add the pinctl patch to it. So it have no difference on whether
the mxs-dma driver is ready or not. :)
So let it go in parallel.

+* Freescale General-Purpose Media Interface (GPMI)
+
+The GPMI nand controller provides an interface to control the
+NAND flash chips. We support only one NAND chip now.
+
+Required properties:
+  - compatible : should be "fsl,<chip>-gpmi-nand"
+ - reg : should contain registers location and length for gpmi and bch.
+ - reg-names: Should contain the reg names "gpmi-nand" and "bch"
+ - interrupts : The first is the DMA interrupt number for GPMI.
+ The second is the BCH interrupt number.
+  - interrupt-names : The interrupt names "gpmi-dma", "bch";
+ - fsl,gpmi-dma-channel : Should contain the dma channel it uses.
+
+The device tree may optionally contain sub-nodes describing partitions of the
+address space. See partition.txt for more detail.
+
+Examples:
+
+gpmi-nand@8000c000 {
+	compatible = "fsl,imx28-gpmi-nand";
+	#address-cells = <1>;
+	#size-cells = <1>;

+	reg-names = "gpmi-nand", "bch";
+	interrupts = <88>, <41>;
+	interrupt-names = "gpmi-dma", "bch";
+	fsl,gpmi-dma-channel = <4>;
