I want to avoid SoC specific code in this file. You should add a Kconfig symbol like CONFIG_MIPS_BOOT_CMDLINE_SINGLESTRING and imply this in your SoC or board config. I think you could also use the U-Boot bootargs buffer directly or make a copy for the kernel.
